  2. Roles & Responsibilities: Defining duties, ethics, and professional conduct.

  3. Threat & Risk Assessment: Identifying vulnerabilities and potential threats.

  4. Operational Planning: Creating strategies for protection assignments.

  5. Surveillance Awareness: Detecting and countering hostile surveillance.

  6. Terror Threat Awareness: Understanding terrorist threats and responses.

 

Practical & Tactical Skills
  • Foot Drills: Protective formations and movement on foot. 

  • Reconnaissance: Scouting locations and planning routes. 

  • Route Selection & Journey Management: Planning and executing secure travel. 

  • Vehicle Tactics: Embus/Debus (entering/exiting vehicles), defensive driving.

  • Search Procedures: Techniques for searching individuals, vehicles, and premises. 

  • Incident Management: Responding to emergencies, including kidnapping/hostage situations. 

  • Conflict Management: De-escalation and physical intervention (unarmed combat/self-defence). 

  • Venue Security: Securing buildings and events.

Specialized Modules (Vary by Provider)
  • First Aid: First Aid at Work (FAW) or higher trauma care (FREC).

  • Close Quarter Combat (CQC): Advanced self-defence. 

  • Hostile Environment Training: Weapons handling, IED awareness (for international roles).

Exam Information

  • The exam is conducted on the allocated days as per the training provider.

  • The course consists of three separate exams, Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) and open-response questions on each covering a specific unit.

  • A 70% pass mark is required for most sections.

  • Practical assessments include route planning, foot formations, vehicle tactics, surveillance detection, and incident management.
