Service Description

1. Principles of Working in the Private Security Industry: Main characteristics/purposes of private security. Legislation relevant to security operatives. Safe working practices & fire procedures. Emergency procedures & post-incident management. Terror threats & the officer's role. Protecting vulnerable people. 2. Principles of Working as a Security Officer: Roles & responsibilities. Access/egress control, physical/electronic systems. Personal safety & patrolling. Drugs awareness, search procedures. 3. Application of Conflict Management: Recognising, assessing, & reducing conflict risk. Problem-solving in conflict situations. 4. Communication & Record Keeping: Effective communication skills. Relevant record-keeping. ​ Key Requirements & Skills First Aid: A current First Aid or EFAW certificate is often a prerequisite. Language: Ability to communicate effectively in written/spoken English. Licence-Linked Qualification: Training leads to an SIA licence for specific roles (Guarding, Door Supervision, CCTV, etc.) Learning & Assessment Course Duration: 32 hours over a period of 4 days Practical Assessments: Covering the use of radio, report writing, searching, and conflict management.
